Afternoon alll!

It's clear & sunny here in Deauville again, though very cold.

The second Day one starts in about half an hour, & after some nasty technical problems this morning, we are ready to rock & roll again.

snippy is here, as is Alright Jack, & Royal Flush has talked his way into the Press Centre, so we are all set.

Hi gang.

After a slight struggle with tikay's lappie, we're up and running and raring to go.

I believe play commences at 2pm again, but I estimate that it'll be closer to a 2.30 start.

We're joined in the commentary box this morning by Mr Flushy himself, James Dempsey. He's wearing his sheep skin coat and is ready to pass on some pearls of wisdom. hmm...  Roll Eyes Cheesy

I had a bit of a kafuffle this morning with the jacuzzi. I spotted a button on the side of the bath and couldn't resist a quick press.

Vooooom! Blasts of air flew out of the holes and the jacuzzi was up and running. I turned on the tap to fill the bath, but sudenly realised that I probably needed to activate the jacuzzi after filling the bath. All the water sprayed up into the air and I had to swiftly turn the tap off before the people below complained of a leak.

Then I pressed the jacuzzi button again, but, to my dismay, this resulted in more air being blowing up. I had no idea how to turn this bloomin thing off! I kept pressing the button but it made no difference.

In the end, I kind of stood there watching on, somewhat naked, and exceptionally perplexed.

After about ten minutes, I decided to press the button again... and voila, it deactivated. Thank God. That call to reception could have been embarrassing. Kiss

Anyhow, I plopped myself into the bath and filled it up. Once filled, I sat back, relaxed and enjoyed my bathe.

After a few minutes, the jacuzzi activated again and went right up my exit hole. Completely out of the blue!  Shocked

Weeeeee!!! I leapt up into the air and started ramming the button again. Luckily, I was able to turn it off immediately.

All in all, a very bizarre start to the day and I entered the casino with a slight limp.

You don't get too many jacuzzis in Brum, so this was my first AND LAST encounter with the bathroom implement...

If someone at home has a mo to spare, maybe the could C & Pthem onto this thread please, so we can all easily see how things ended up without flicking between threads. Thanks..

Our apologies for the fact that the Forum slowed down a tad last night, we had technical "issues", & the Forum was very busy indeed. The Techs have been under the bonnet this morning to see if they can fix it, hopefully it will be better today. The pics, I'm told, "don't help", but we intend to persevere & keep Posting the pics as long as we can.

Part of the problem is the "available bandwidth" at this end, we have a whole bunch og guys using the local Wi-Fi, & some of the guys are video streaming & sending huge "packets" of info, which means all of us are struggling with access speed, but anyway, enough excuses, lets get on with it.

I'm from mansfield - if we want a jacuzzi we just fart in the bath - its cheaper! :-)

Well, it's 2pm but play is yet to commence.

I've spotted a few familiar faces:

Iwan Jones
Simon Zach (same table as Iwan)
Greg Raymer
Paul Alterman
Dan Samson
Steve Vladar
Carlo Citrone
Jeff Buffenbarger
Mads Andersen (Scandinavian Open winner)
Barny Boatman
Dave Colclough (early!)

I think a few of the stars like to arrive fashionably late.

There is also a feature table being prepared. I still haven't worked out why they don't have one for Day 1A

Afternoon folks!

On my way to the press centre I passed Greg Raymer and Isabelle Mercier sitting at a table ahead of their starts in the event today. I've no idea how their conversation started but this is what I heard...

Greg Raymer (to Isabelle Mercier): "So,a slug is a snail without a shell. Now, the sea cucumber...."

Is he going to mail them to their seats?

Play has not commenced yet, the players are taking their seats. I will go & find Jen, Dave, Thewy, & all our "faces to follow" shortly.

I have also seen Julian Gardner - now sponsored by Virgin, Neil Channing, Vicky Coren, in a Paradise poker shirt, Rory Liffey, Iwan Jones, Smokin Steve Vladar, & many many others.

And at this very moment, Thomas Kremser announces "SHUFFLE UP & DEAL".
