I'm looking to go to a Gala casino shortly in Nottingham. I'm a student there but home for the summer at the moment, so I might make the odd visit over the summer but then hopefully can become more of a regular once back in nottingham next year. I

Yeah, the one we talk about is the one with the cardroom which is on Maid Marion Way.
Tourneys on Sun, Mon 30 PLHE (100 first sunday of the month) and 20 PLHE on thurs and fri, all rebuy events.
New tuesday night beginners comp starting in July.

Sunday I hear is now a 50 rebuy Monday 30 rebuy Tuesday 10 rebuy (from 16th July) Thursday 20 rebuy Friday 20 rebuys 1st Sunday of month is 100 rebuy Sun/Mon/Thurs/Fri Registration before 9pm, comp stars 9.15  Tuesday registration 6.30 - 7.15 comp starts 7.30 100 game registration cutoff is 8.30 |

Im a young looking 32 (short paper round)
I was going to ask that. I play with a guy who lives in Nottingham and plays at the Gutshot, but commutes for a private game in nottingham once a week. Infact he finalled in the Blonde tourney.
I did throw an invitation out to Local Blondites for a home game last week. perhaps I should repeat the invite. My next one will be Saturday 9th July in Grantham. anyone interested? 2x10 STTs nice structure, 8 players top 2 paid

Bury St Edmunds
Thing is the closest decent cardroom is luton (1h30mins).
We of course have yarmouth (1h) which do only 30 and 20 rebuys on fridays and sundays with no cash game. And a beginner comp on wednesday 5 rebuy with only 2 rebuys allowed (pointless!).
Thats why we mainly play online, but we need to start playing live more so we're looking to broaden out a bit, i know coca is a student in notts so he knows his way around, i know about more about the south of england!

Ok thanks for the information guys. And looks like sunday's managed to ask any further questions I had. I think Maid Marion Way is the one I have already joined but haven't actually been to yet. So hopefully see some people there from hear in the near future. Do you all play there often? Or are there specific nights when most go or anything?

At the minute I'm pretty skint so I dont play as regular as Id like. I'm in a weekly private game I treat as a satelite for the Gala. If I win 60 on a wednesday I take it to the Gala on Thursday. If I final Thursday I ride it through friday and Sunday. Mondays I'm otherwise engaged. I'll be doing the same but tagging Tuesdays onto the beginning when it starts. Once my Poker T-shirt business (Shuffle Up Shirts) starts up Aug 1st I'll be playing alot more, not just because I hope to be a little better off but because I'll be out promoting the business.
