Neteller
«

I am looking to open an online account. Does anyone have any helpful advice about the best way to do this?
Is Neteller the best of the online accounts or are there better options?
Also, do I get a credit/cash card like a regular bank? What is the minimum deposit needed to do this?
Thanks

neteller is what i use and its ok.
If you play on uk sites mostly open a pound account.
If you play on us sites or dollars then open a dollar account.
get your account certiifed and link a bank account to it. It reduces the amount of time it takes to do transactions. Transactions are instant on depositing to poker sites but can take up to 3 days when withdrawing.
It will withdraw back to the account you have linked to it.
I dont use paypal as i dont think its secure enough

Neteller is the best option for getting funds around different sites and avoiding frequent exchange rate fees. It works in a similar way to Paypal, if you've ever used that.
Nowadays you have to link the Neteller account to a bank account to get 'verified' (you used to have to fax ID to them) but this then makes funds transfers from Neteller to the account very straightforward (not sure about the fees though - never used this option).
You can get a Neteller debit card, allowing you to withdraw direct from cash machines (after loading the card from your Neteller account). Best used as an emergency only though as the fees are high.
Go ahead and sign up, its free and easy to do. Best tip is to have a Neteller account in US$, rather than Sterling. This then lets you cash out of, say, Stars in $ and deposit into, say, Party in $ without going through any exhange conversion. The only time you get an exchange rate hit is when you finally get the cash out into your bank account in Sterling.

Thanks Patman,
My reason for opening one of these online accounts is, I want to close all the poker sites I never play at.
Over the last three or four months I have started poker accounts at various sites. As I only really play at pokerstars, they just sit there doing nothing. I will re-deposit into pokerstars with the money. I have been meaning to do this for ages, but have been too busy. I have a few days off Uni, so I will start one today.

Another tip - get the money out of the other sites but don't close the accounts. That way, you'll still be able to claim any re-deposit bonuses that come along down the line.

PS: You'll probably end up with a few cents in each account anyway as most sites only transfer whole dollar amounts into Neteller.

Actually the fees for the neteller debit card are not high. It is a fee of $1 to withdraw to your bank account, and a fee of $2 to withdraw a sum to the debit card. Once that sum is on the debit card, there is no further charge (you can withdraw small sums from the initally deposited sum on the card without further cost)

Once I have my account activated. How do I go about transfering the money from my various online poker accounts to my neteller account?
Do I have to phone the various poker sites concerned?
thanks

No, just select Neteller as the option to cash out from the cashier's screen. You'll be asked for a combination of your account number, email address & Secure ID, depending on the site.

Unfortunately, its not that simple. Transferring onto the card involves a conversion to Canadian $ and back to US$, so you get less back than you started with. Then there's another exchange rate hit at the cash machine, as you convert from US$ to Sterling.
If you don't then use the card again, Neteller will eat away at the residual card balance in monthly fees until it reaches zero.
Add it all up and you'll likely get about £1 for every $2 at current rates.

I tried to withdraw from my Ladbrokes account using neteller. Unfortunately you have to have a bank balance of $0 in your account at the site to switch bank details. I deposited using Visa and want to withdraw using Neteller. For security reasons, I can't withdraw from the site back into my visa card.
I explained this to the support people on ladbrokes. They said I have to withdraw using my local ladbrokes instead.
How the heck do I do this?... I have an online poker account, how do I go into my local kilmarnock bookies and get my cash?
This is the reason I opened a neteller account to make things easier to withdraw.
Full-tilt, full-contact and party were all straight forward to deal with. Yet again Ladbrokes are giving me grief.

When I withdrew from Pokerstars recently they put it straight back onto the Visa card I deposited with - don't see why Ladbrokes can't do the same.

Am I missing something here? People talk about Netller being an easy way to deposit/withdraw
I play on quite a few different sites, and I use my debit card to deposit and withdraw on all of them, what could be easier than that?
