Memories flood back of Willie Whitelaw shooting one of the beaters on a grouse shoot. He didn't seem to understand the problem, it was what they were paid for after all. You just can't get good servants nowadays.

I was hit twice as a beater.... once I was quite far away - the pellets didn't hurt, but on caught me in hte lip & burst it, no harm done though. The second time the shooter shot forward after the warning horn had been sounded - the ball of shot whizzed past me apart from a pellet which hit the frame of my specs, knocking them off my face. I started straight for the shooter - intending to insert my beaters flag as far up Lord HawHaw's fundament as possible - but was grabbed by 2 of the gamekeepers. They wouldn't let me near the clown (beaters were to only speak when spoken to by the guests - flag insertion would have been a social faux pas.
Anyway the clown was kicked off straight away, on the 2nd day of his 2 week shoot - no refund, over £10K blown.... still wanted to hit him though- idiot could have killed me.

lmao
I can see how Rod would make a good beater. If I were a small animal, I'd certainlt take flight when his ample frame approached me flailing.

If anyone watched "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" on More4 on Tuesday, you'd have seen they didn't have to write a single joke for the show.

I'm just glad I can't find a picture of when I had highlights too
I then got it cut & grew it all long again - it was normally tidier than this though....
