structure of play

hi all
i want to know if you play the same way in every game i.e. have a gameplan from the outset? i know pattrns of my own play and know who is likely to fold and who is likely to re-raise me etc. one thing about my play id like to change is my lack of calling when i have semi decent hands like KQ, K10. whats the lowest cards you would call with say if you were in a 10 seater, 100 runner freezeout? lets say the raise you had to call was the same as the pot with 3 or 4 in it?
Also, is it better to stick to a system? say i raise with AK pre-flop and i get nothing on the flop? should i continue to raise or get the hell out of dodge? i usually keep raising the minimum and often fold on the river if its a re-raise. any tips welcome

online STTs I have a pretty standard plan. live MTTs I don't I start off pretty tight, looking for a spot to pick up a big pot. I'll limp in with suited Aces and low pairs looking for a big pay off, or if I find premium hands,i'll play them aggressively. if I get my payday early, or if I'm at a particularly weak table I'll up the gears early and try and pick up lots of small/medium pots. if the table is fairly wild I'll melt into the background and wait for a big one.
basically it depends on the cards I'm getting and the style of the table.

sorry didnt read it properly
I dont call raises with K,10 / KQ (unless I have LOADS of chips or we're short handed or mabe in the blinds)
continuation bets are a matter of feel I think. sometimes you know they''ll get through, sometimes they wont

would you just call with KQ without the raise going in?

again, this all depends on the table. I'll cerainly be limping with K,Q but I've noticed a few A,K limpers in the lower buy in games at Notts so its 'proceed with caution' even if I flop top pair. I'd rather hit the Q than the K

One thing Mad, min raising when you miss the flop AK is unlikely to get results. Assuming you have already raised preflop, a min raise will get called just for the pot odds even if they have missed as well. 2 min raises = a re raise from me usually as it shouts weakness (thats if i haven't re raised the min raise on the flop already). Bet 2/3 of the pot and fold to any resistance if you have no draw.

ok adam, cheers. i got some advice from a guy at cincins that i should ensure i raise pre-flop with ace anything. somehow it feels different to me doing this online as oppossed to a live game. i always have it in the back of my mind that im going to get screwed (excuse the language) online

always raise with A,x is terrible advice
as it goes I think it's quite common but players with that philosophy are the people paying me off when I hit my big flop I was talking about earlier

i agree. thanks ace2
i suppose on reflection that im a little too chicken to put more of my chips in because ive got nothing (well A high
) but 2/3rds the pot seems sensible as id probably put that in anyway with the min raise after the flop and after the river. maybe im just tight and scared!! im going to try that though and find out if it works for me
cheers

unless that commits you to the pot. in that case it's either check/fold or, more likely move in
