I'm all behind, as Red never tires of telling me, but I must just Post a bit about our Jen's quite breathtaking performance in the Unusual Suspects affair.

The strarting line up, many months ago, included POTY Lord Micky Wernick, Joe Grech, Stuart Nash, At-It Bradley, Burnley John, J P Kelly - said, justifiably, to be the best young UK prospect - Royal Flush, & World Heads Up Runner-Up Simon Nowab. Try & spot the fish in THAT line-up!

They played Main Events for 3 or 4 months - I dunno how many, but 7 or 8 at a guess. They played online comps - maybe half a dozen - & they played maybe a dozen heads up matches.

We can all get lucky in best of 3's, even I could beat Monty Burns best of three if I got really lucky (like he failed to turn up), but over 20 or more games, including Live, Online & Heads-Up, the winner has to be pretty good.

When it got to the sharp end, they all trooped off to Helsinki for a truly World-Clas field. Jen went deep into Day Two. She would never make an excuse, but she was dog-tired on Day Two, & I think fatigue done her.

Then it was Deauville - anothyer huge field, another World-Class field, & we all know what happened there.

Finally, Walsall, and a spine-tingling climax, where everything was on the line, & many a strong nerve woulda failed. She held her nerve to win by a short-head.

This Lady can't arf play! Camel backed her a long time ago, so did a few others. She will go a long way in poker. You had better believe it.

Parallel with this, in the last month, she has suffered some traumatic domstic grief, as her close friends know. (Please don't ask). It has been THE most awful time for her privately, yet she still got the job done. Some special Lady, eh? Lets hear it for Jen.

And can she get the job done in Monte Carlo? Who knows, but she has as good a chance as any. We will be there, Live Updating her from start to finish, & I know the blondes will cheering on her evey move. And I do mean "move", this girl has more moves in her than you could ever believe.

I fully expect the sponsorship offers to arrive soon, & we will continue to support her for ever. It may mean, I have to say, thaet we won't see as much of her in the Live Update Team as we would wish, but hey, she is one of us, always will be, & whatever fate decides for her, blonde will always love jen.

A word also about the runner-up, James Dempsey, aka Royal Flush. Flusjy is direct, blunt, sometimes rude, but you just would not believe what an absolute Gent he has been throughout this event, & how well he handled himself in what must have been a bitter defeat for a proud & ambitious young man.

Before the Final Heads-Up Match - Flushy v Jen - he said to me "tikay, if I miss out & lose, I want to go to Monte Carlo to support Jen, can I perhaps help with the Live Update?".

Yes Flushy, you can. It will be our pleasure to have you on board to watch Jen strut her stuff.

How lucky are blonde to attract some great peeps, eh?

Jen's performance was nothing short of stunning, I think it's just a matter of who snaps her up first

A few words on my colleague, Jennifer 'Mrs Merton' Mason.

I can't say in words how pleased I am for Jen. She wants to succeed in this game so much that this opportunity is a truely substantial step for her.

Also, seeing off the likes of Flushy, JP, Joe Grech, and At-It, is a remakable feat. She should be immensly proud of her performance, as those around her clearly are. Genuinely impressive accomplishment, whatever happens in Monte Carlo.

We all know she can play, she showed that in Deaville when she bubbled. In fact, I think she may be underrated as a player. She tends to get bigged up quite a lot, but it's fully deserved, Sometimes when a female player is highlighted as a decent player, it's usually because of their gender if anything else, but Jen truely IS a top notch competitor.

I predicted a cash finish for Jen in Deauville, and I was almost proved right. I see no reason why she can't reach this goal in Monte Carlo, and I fully believe that she can win the whole bloomin thing, nevemind cash.

Those millions await you Merton, good luck. We'll all be there to be support you.

A sensational effort from Jen and I would like to add my congratulations as another one of those proud to know her

I think she is one of those people who rises to whatever challenge is put before her...I'm fully expecting a few more spine tingling moments and a great showing in Monte Carlo....

I agree totally Tikay,

it can't be easy for a woman to be such a presence in such a male dominated sport. She really does know how to beat around the big boys

Was great to meet Jen in Deauville, i have one regret though, i didn't get an autograph Sad

Best of Luck Jen, maybe see you there.
