I think 9 got paid in Sheffield. I am really referring to the prize money jumps, not the number of prizes. What would you prefer to see Keith?

No, it was ten! nearly a quarter of the field got paid. Ridiculous IMO.

I hate to go against the crowd but I think the payout structure is fine, except I wouldn't pay down to 18.

Poker is about winning and the winner should get at least 40% of the prize money.

Every comp this week has ended up in a deal.

And that is the right of the players to decide this.

But due to these structures we never get a true winner.

The decision is forced upon them because top heavy structures leave them no reasonabe alternative

If players want to do a deal, fine. That is their prerogative.

But why penalise he players who want to win big money by enforcing a flat payout structure on them?

Because they are in the minority, why are so many deals done, why do YOU do deals?

Back to these last players - and the Rollercoaster Of P. Peters -

He lost most of his chips to M. Herron with a traditional vs race (the King fell on the turn).  Then with just 17,000 left (and the blinds at 5k - 10k) he doubled that first desperate time off autocalling big blind Nick Slade who took against Mr. Peters'  three diamonds.  The Jack was the first card out, and the 4 the last, but in the middle were two Aces which kept him in the comp.

Then it was his Mrs. who doubled him up again with her , with which she quite reasonably raised his big blind - he just went for it with and spiked that King.
"Well done, darling," was the civilised response...

Hi to Red-dog - Its been a while! Sat next to you in a 300 tourney last year - I had KK first hand, doubled up and then doubled again with AA against you!! lol, that hasnt happened since Cheesy

In reference to structures, lets be realistic guys, if you flaten a prizepool so that everyone gets cream on there cake then you will feel slightly deprived of elmea if you win the competion and only get paid 25-45%. Poker IS about winning and evryones time will come...

Good luck to Nieve, she bought me a bottle of Cote de Rhone red at Masters.. and she drank3/4!!! lol
