In 'almost' every activity, sport, passtime, club, etc. etc. there is usually a bigger percentage of males than females.

If you could count all the sports people in the world, I wonder what the ratio would be. I'm guessing that there would be a lot more men.

I think there are many reasons for this. The main one being the scientific differences between male and females. It has been proven that there are, believe it or not, certain differences between male and female brains.

I would imagine the main reason for the disparity is that women are far too busy actually doing useful things in society (bringing up kids, clearing up the mess their husbands make etc), and so don't have the spare time that men do to fritter away on poker, fishing, golf etc.

oh

and child rearing

Plenty more I'm sure.

The Wolds population is 51% female after all.

If I were a woman, I wouldn't be too concerned about the lack of my counterparts in poker. In fact I'd like things the way they were.

With less women about, men are more likely to make mistakes at the table that you can take advantage of.

 Smiley

lol I agree with some of your list but I think a lot of the sport you mentioned, if not 50/50, are still more male dominated.

Ballroom Dancing? Takes two to tango remember. Unless you are talking about lesbian ballroom dancing.

This is very, very true. But I also know for a fact that the majority of the girls I know, who are between 18-30 and do NOT have the responsibilities you mention above, would rather stay in and watch Eastenders than go an do something else. I'm not talking about ALL women here of course but there is no denying it.

Apparently, at dancing classes they are always on the lookout for men.

They swap partners and the woman take turns to sit out.

Some even go down the fake man route.

I would love to play more live events, but a lot of women players are mothers too remember, it's not all that easy to find someone to look after the kids when you go away for a night, let alone a few days.Hence why there are so many online, you have no sitter problems![/color]

Not impressed, Matt?

She is a consistent winner in the ring games, isn't she?

I can't really comment because I don't play near your level of games at this stage, but she has won over $100,000 in tournaments alone on pokerstars. She can't be that bad. If you add this to her cash game winnings also, she must have talent.

In 2 years she has gone from a new player to a high limit player.

She is also very attractive Cheesy

She has won over $100000 on pokerstars but made a loss winning it. She plays high limits because she is bankrolled, whether she is a consistant winner i wouldnt know i dont watch her. I said do me a favour because you were naming the great female players - to mention her in the same breath with the likes of jennifer harman in my opinion is not possible.
