Wow! Talk about eating your words! Take a bow Joe Calzaghe!  Did it count as a match though! I mean really, Joe got hit a couple of times, if even! He'd get battered worse in training!

Fantastic display by Calzaghe. I thought the ref could have stopped it at the end but when its a unification bout they tend to let them go on.
I really hope Lacey has no long standing damage after that beating.Other great fights of this standing ended in tragedy( Benn & Mcclellan, Eubank & Watson) . If that wouldnt have happened those 2 fights would remembered as some of the greatest fights in Britain.

Excellent performance from Joe, Totally outclass him, that was just as good as Winky vs Trinidad, PBF vs Gatti.

Best boxer P4P in britain by a mile. Thought the ref should of stopped it in the 11th though Wink

It would be great if Calzaghe fought Markus Beyer (WBC Super Middleweight Champion) and then retired the undisputed World Super Middleweight Champion of the world. However, I predict him either going for a fight with Mikkel Kessler, Bernard Hopkins, Roy Jones JR or Jermaine Taylor after the Beyer fight which would be in the Autumn.

Although, it could be written in his contract that he has to fight Lacy again.

I thought about the Jones fight as a possibility, Nemesis. I know Jones is suppose to be fighting Bernard Hopkins. So after that, Who knows?

One things for sure. The Americans will take Calzaghe seriously now

I feel robbed.  That fight should have been stopped in the 7th, 8th or 9th - if only so my bet would have come up! Cool

On a serious note though Calzaghe was immense.

Should he step up?

He really needs to get that hand properly sorted out before he even thinks of moving up,

he said he hurt it again in the 8th and moving up a level he will have to hit a little harder than he normally has too.

But on that performance he would have little trouble at that level....if fully healed.
