Poker Groupies

I don't know if this has already been covered. If it has, humour me.
I have been listening to the interviews on the 'circuit' by cardplayer.com. One question the host always asks is " do you see alot of poker groupies" to all of the players he is interviewing.
I told my mate who I used to play RISK with about this. He almost laughed himself to death as he thought I was talking crap. As usual
I must admit, when I look at poker players, I don't see a reason why groupies would be interested ( lucky gits.. :-) ) Ok, perhaps Gus Hansen, I can see it. He is a good looking bloke in a totally non-gay kind of way.
Are there such things as 'poker groupies'? If there are, where are they?
Oh I forgot...they don't go for poor, unknown fish do they

I can easily believe it - but then thats because i am the founder member of the BAAS or the BigArmo Appreciation Society. There is an annual newsletter and we have an annual convention where all the members meet and exchange BigArmo stories.
If anyone is interested in joining then contact me - what better way to spend £19.95 a year could there be??

poker groupie !!! im a professional railbird ffs.
Although heres a true story regarding poker groupies....
A bunch of us were staying at the Thistle hotel in luton during the last festival, and after a very late night myself and Barry "Choccy Bum" Neviile were still awake at breakfast time. as we made our way into the restaurant, barry told the waitress to please keep the women out of the way while we were eating breakfast. She looked at him with confusion written all over her face (most people look at barry that way) and barry explained that we were pro poker players, and had been followed back to the hotel by hoards of screaming groupies and although we tried to lose them, they had followed us back to the hotel and were camped outside.
She assured us that she would make sure no one was admitted to the restaurant without a room key, and said she would have a word with the manager... shortly after a few other players found their way to the restaurant and joined us, and barry told them what he had said to the waitress... the guys went along with the fun, and backed barry up about the groupies.
next thing we knew, a guy in a suit aproached our table and said he was the hotel manager and had arranged for a security guard to be posted on the door to make sure that our meal and our stay at the hotel was not interupted
Barry even told him that under no circumstances was he to disclose our room numbers to anyone and that if the press was informed of our stay he would be holding the manager fully responsible.... It was sooooooooo funny.
