Harrahs / WSOP - An Idea...

An Idea which I don't think exists although would be delighted if anyone could actually tell me that it does.
How about Harrahs / WSOP set up accounts on the main poker sites so that you can transfer funds from your account into their account by way of a buy in.

There would be many benefits including:

I use NETeller (GBP), obvioulsy play in USD. To get the money out of my poker accounts, in to NETELLER, into my bank and then over to WSOP means i am losing a fair amount in exchange rate so, thats not good.

Any players have a big win and fancy a shot at the WSOP can also make an impulse purchase which also has to be good for Harrahs.

Easy Way to track payment for players and recipient alike.


Another option would of course be that they accpet NETeller by way of payment. My guess is they could pay out the funds by that method as well.

What about the neteller debit card? Is that not accepted?

Not as far as I could see. That would be marginally better than currently (although at this point i dont have one) but still have to pay one set of charges. The more I think about it, the more i like the idea, they really should set up accounts to receive transfers at the main sites.

The US goverment is trying to block all payments to poker sites and the U/K gov only allows money to be held by the major poker sites this means that Harrahs who will not assosiate with any on line site will not have a direct link with them and therefore cannot set up banking agreements.....However.... I believe there are some sites looking into setting up transfer accounts that allow you to use your poker account for tournament entries, hotel bookings,flights etc........therivercard is one of the sites trying to set this up now and is aiming to have it set up by the end of April. This will mean that you can enter the WSOP and other events directly via your account.

Thanks. I am certanily aware of the Goodlatte Bill (have to deal with it on a daily basis :-( ) but, I suspect that will not thappen (fingers crossed!). They have treid before and I believe now there are even more compelling reasons than there ever have been not to proceed with it.
I will certainly check the site that you mentioned and look in to it.
As NETeller are not a Poker Site, I would like to think that they would be able to hold the funds but do not know the legalities.
