Bit deflated going out so early in a final table. I don't get to many but was playing confidently and was hoping to go all the way  in this one.

Should I have raised more on the flop? I was pretty certain I was ahead but would have liked to have taken the pot there. Maybe a bigger bet on the turn?

I didn't know what to think when he went all in on the river but called straight away in the heat of the moment sort of thing never thinking whether he had a flush that could beat mine

Any help would be appreciated.

You got done out by a fish, nothing more. If he's played like that throughout the tournament, he's got there purely on luck and you won't see him that often there. I'd play the hand the same as you and just be bemused that he'd got this far.

why are you playing this to a raise pre flop anyway?

that said his call of your raise on the flop is pretty fishy....what did you put him on at this point? an overpair? if so whay are you betting the turn?

on the turn he is not going to be passing

and the river is just plain unlucky

I figured that his raise was just a typical steal of my BB and if I hit on the flop then hopefully I could take it down. After he called my raise on the flop I didn't know what to think and with second pair and a flush draw on the turn I thought I was in a good position.

With his call on your raise after the flop, you've got to put him on something here.
You the had the chance of a free card after the turn, but chose to raise and got called again. Regardless of what he was playing, you should have been bothered about this.

I would have laid down after his pre-flop raise. Q7s just isn't worth it for me, though it may be for some others.

I always tend to think that if I take a bad hit like that then it is just deserts for playing poor pocket cards. Just asking for trouble.

I guess it was my own fault for trying to defend my BB too much, especially with it only being a minimum raise from one of the larger stacks. I honestly didn't put him on a hand which is something I need to improve on (relatively new to playing poker) but after his minimum bet on the flop I was surprised he called my raise. After that I guess my lack of experience showed...

I totally agree. Min-raising in a £2 MTT is usually more the sign of a marginal hand than strength.

tighty, if someone min raises when you are heads up in the blinds its an instant call with Q7, you are getting over 4/1 with the antes in the middle too.

as for the hand itself. if you are raising to 16k on the flop (which is a good raise btw) you need to be betting 20k+ on the turn as once he calls your bet on the flop its very likely hes drawing to overcards only. price him out of it. As it stands he made a flush draw on the turn and in a £2 multi i doubt he passes to any bet!
