The ICHUC (International Charity Heads Up Council) is proud to announce that it’s first major contest will be a battle of huge proportions between perhaps the two fiercest rivals in poker : Great Britain V Ireland – This Time it’s for Charity.

Eleven poker faced warriors from each nation will face off against each other on the afternoon of Saturday 8th July 2006 at the magnificent battleground commonly known as The Fitzwilliam Club, Dublin for the first leg of this heads up team International.

The generals have been appointed. For the Team GB the weight of responsibility falls on the shoulders of James ‘Royal Flush’ Dempsey, whilst Team Ireland have opted for ‘Mr Antesup’ Mike ‘LuckyBlind’ Lacey.

Three places in each team have been reserved for on-line qualifiers, whilst the rest of the team will comprise of players selected by the team captains.

Team Ireland will announce details of their on-line qualifiers in the next few weeks. Team GB are pleased to announce that they have signed a sponsorship deal with www.bluesqpoker.com. Blue Sq will be providing a ‘Value Added’ qualification tournament.

Further details of the heads up challenge, which will be followed by a Euro 20 rebuy charity tournament, can be found at www.poker4charity.org & www.onepercentpledge.com

The charities to benefit are Game For Life and OnePercentPledge.

ICHUC is a partnership between OnePercentPledge and Poker4Charity

Typical, just like the Barca HU comps all the sats will be MTT and not a test of relevant ability. OK a gripe Davey but not aimed at you or the generous Blue Square.

No probs Robert, I agree with your point 100%. I know Jamie would have liked to run a HU format as well however blue square's software does not allow for it. Hopefully it will in the future.

Just to point out this is the first leg and the second leg will be held in Britain later in the year with further chances to qualify - perhaps a live HU tournament for a place.

We are also holding a four nations event (England, Ireland, Scotland & Wales) later in the year. James has already been confirmed as England captain and BlondePoker's very own TheTank will be captaining Scotland.

Cue people being nice to TheTank for the next three months.

Ok i think in the intests of evreyone getting a crack at this it would be best to give the 3 seats away in 3 seperate sats, incase you cant make 1.

Question is what day of the week do people prefer? Suggestions anyone?
