for the last couple of years pokerstars have had very good main events including 2 winners but numerous final tables finishes, above the % of the number of players entered compared to the field

this year they have 4 left out of the 27 remaining and 1 of those didnt quailfy on stars he is sponsored (raymer)

is this a bad year for pokerstars or can they pull a rabbit out the hat with 3 ins in 3 years with there four remaining players being

Greg "FossilMan" Raymer $3,840,000 Team PokerStars
Brad "bogey54" Kondracki $3,160,000 $160 Double Shootout
Daniel "berka" Bergsdorf $1,144,000 $33 Rebuy
Bernard "Dogger9" Lee $770,000 1000 FPPs

remember they supplied over 20% of the players this year

if Greg Raymer wins again this year it would be an absolutely remarkable feat and very very very good for the game. naturally i would like to see a Brit win but if not then i will be hoping he can do it.

I may be imagining it but I am sure Full Tilt were offering a mad bonus if one of there qualifiers won ($10 million)?
Is my memory of this fact correct? and do they have any representatives going into todays play?
I assume this deal does not count for Mr Ivey.

The small print of the $10million bonus was quite revealing - it was actually a 10 year 'contract' to be a Full Tilt sponsored player, for which the payment was $1million per year.  I'm not sure how this compares with any deals the other sites would offer their players if they were WSOP champ (there's only Stars with a track history for a start!)

There's nothing to indicate that there are any Full Tilt Qualifiers still in but Matusow and Ivey are both sponsored players.  I guess they don't qualify for the additional payment if they were to win.

Couldn't you win pieces of the FTP players in the run up to the WSOP?

Yes - they had a series of tournaments where the winner got 10% of the pro's Main Event action and the rest of the final table got 1%.

Somewhere out there someone's got 10% of Ivey and Matusow for their $109 buy-in (in addition to the cash they won).

Certainly looks a better deal than ultimatebet.com's "Piece of Phil" a few years ago when you won a % of hellmuth and he had one small cash out and nothing else. Cheesy

PokerStars have a better ratio now, 2 from 9. Would be very interesting if they were to do it again!
