Was FIRST out tonight in the £200 FO at Luton. Thought l would be embarressed but l wasn't, which tells me l've come a long way in a short period as, three months ago l would have been kicking myself and would not even have wished other players at the table good luck on my exit.
Second hand l get AK for the second time in a row. I took the previous hand down easy with a 200 raise. Anyway player on the button re-raises 500, nobody else called the 50 big blind so l push all in thinking there couldn't have been many Aces or Kings, l might have been wrong. After a 3 min dwell he calls with QQ , the rest is history.
RIGHT or WRONG I WOULD DO THE SAME AGAIN. ( Get the Chips IN )
Roll On the £500 tomorrow night.

obviously would need a lot more info before you could make a decision on this one...
key factors are blind structure/starting chips and players at the table..
Obviously your not a bad poker player, but you must know AK is no pair pre flop and 2nd hand of a reasonably priced tournament i wouldn't be looking to get my chips in unless i had a strong read that my opponent was holding a weaker ace or a medium pocket pair, which he/she could fold...
i would say NAY on this one, purely on the basis that its highly likely he/she is raising you with AA or KK...

wrong although i dont mind going out early doors i dont thinking pushing all in so early in a comp preflop is a long term winning stragery
calling his raise and folding if you missed would of been a better play
AK is a great drawing hand but against a pp its only 50/50 and with alot of play in the comp there is no point going broke on a 50/50
if you felt the player was of good enough quailty to fold a hand like queens or jacks here then the +ev of this move would be in your favour but there are too many people out there that will call you down with alot weeker pairs than queens

Good Point Sunday mate but lve started taking more chances early on to try and get a moderate stack and also let the table know lm not there to make up the numbers. IF is a massive word in this game lol. Thanks bud.

Well i reckon Byron is keen!!
your right, you do have to build your stacks early but not necessarily in such a rash manner.
while the blinds are cheap, limp many hands and try and take a few pots down, loosen your image up a bit and then get your bigger hands paid off....
well thats the script anyway mate!

Well if you had a similar table as i did, then i think u were right.
On my table was Dave "The Gambler" and Joe Grech (spelt wrong probably - appologies)
It was MAD to say the least. Loosing a pot with KK to J4 (2 pair on the river).
Anyone who knows Dave, knows the way he plays - any two cards VERY aggressively. I decided I would play the same - either I was getting chips early, or I was going home - needless to say, I went home early!!! lol

No, that hand damaged me down to just under 3000 very early on - it was playing Dave at his own game that put me out lol
