When I watch 24 I dismiss the naff-ness of it all.

If you bring the head along to watch these shows you're not going to enjoy them.

Leave the brain in the coat room, suspend your disbelief, sit on the sofa and just immerse yourself in the cool.
You'll have a much better time.   Cool

I much rather watching it thinking "Holy Moly, Nena's a baddie wtf" than "Saw that coming a mile off, yawn"

I love 24, that gosh-darn "district" getting in the way all the time. Them good folks at CTU seem to know what they're doing, why not leave them be.

Not watching Series 5 yet, waiting till it all comes out on box set so I can view it all at once.

I didn't really think that Arab manny would fall for the whole, kick his sons chair over and fire a couple of blanks chestnut.

OK Jack, I'll fess up. The bombs at the bus station. Please don't fire blanks into the rest of my brood.

The only thing unreal about 24 is the ability to cross LA in a matter of minutes.

Other than that it's ALL real, believe me.

Start of Series 2, Jack shoots some random guy in the briefing room for a reason that I can't fathom and was never really explained.

All the time his boss is watching and doesn't give Bauer so much as a "That's rather naughty mate, calm down"
Jack wanted him dead, that's good enough for me.  Cool

Could Bourne get away with that? I don't think so.

To be fair he hacksawed his head off for a very good reason!

Matt Damon doesn't sell action hero to me.

He sells snotty kid, but not action hero. I thought the Bourne films were somewhat mis-cast.

Are they not commandeering helicopters left right and centre for that sort of thing though?

Surely this scene cements Jack Bauer's position as a true renegade badass.

He shoots a key material witness in the presence of his boss and all he has to say in his defence is "yeah, i'm gonna need a hacksaw."

If I directed 24, at the next 4 screen split after that hacksaw incident, I'd have a cleaning lady mopping bits of brain off the floor.

Not enough humour in the show is my only complaint.

I want the CTU ringtone on my mobile so I can answer and say my surname with real urgency and act like I'm in a rush.

you and me both!

My other half has it - trouble is you can only hear it if it's really quiet, so how bauer doesn't have 100s of missed calls I don't know!
