Tighty/Tikay, when you limp AK in EP early on do you re-raise a raiser? I did this for a while and found it quite succesful

Oh YES, absolutely. They invariably Pass then, & we take it withouit a flop - the best way to win with AK, it's, to my mind, the beauty of the hand, & the optimum way to play it. Even if you get called, you are probably not in too bad a shape. And iif you are caked up, & he's a shortie, it's a no-brainer. I just gotta learn to get caked up now.....

Yes. I don't really want to see a flop against a raiser who has anything but a short stack.

However if no raise comes I am quite happy playing a multi way pot in the first level with AK because I feel that if I raise to say 200 with blinds at 25-50 four people might come along for the ride anyway and if I miss all I have done is built a pot for nothing

If I hit my hand is disguised beautifully and  i can begin to pot build.

Of course later on the main value of AK is pre flop and raise the heck out of it to put the pressure on

Good discussion, i tried this myself for a while but i found that i ran into two pair etc. and people who were generally playing crap. I still prefer to raise in the early rounds so that i can limit my opposition's hand range.
