Here's the hand, with my thought process. As you will see I thought it was an automatic call. I would be interested for you to pick holes in my arguments where applicable


Live small rebuy tournament

Penultimate hand of rebuys, blinds 50-100

I am chip leader on a seven handed table with 8,000

I am in SB with 

UTG is second chip leader with 7,500

He limps, very tight player, only premium hands shown all night and they have stood up

Three further limpers, chip stacks range from 1000-5000

coming round to me in SB, have to put 50 into a pot containing 550. Automatic call with any two. The plan being only to proceed if I flop two pair or better.

I have flopped the straight but I am vulnerable to club flush draws, bigger straight draws

I think I have to lead out here and bet 600, full pot sized bet

UTG thinks and goes all in for 7400

Shortstack calls for 1000


Now I have a decision to make. There will be only one hand to rebuy after this.

I think UTG can make this move with any one of the following hands


Overpair to the board

A set

Nut flush draw

TPTK (Unlikely)

QJ

Given this range of hands I think its an automatic call

He has the ONLY hand you are behind to at the moment which is indeed just one of those things. The only reason I see for a pass here is the fact the rebuys are ending and saving chips now will enable you to have more leverage later on . ( ie the chips are worth more in your stack in the freezeout because of the power they afford you- if that makes sense) .

if he's near the chip lead and he's tight is he really going all in with the nut flush draw?


flopping a set on that board isnt the best especially with that many limpers so he's more than likely going to put in a nice re raise to find out where he is

but he's re raisin you 5000 or so,he's limped in so its more than likely he's a set or q j k 10,k j pocket pair
now i said what i think this player may do with a set,if he's on a  draw he's prolly flat calling why would he raise all in.

you must realise he made a very strong re raise he's  tight player being showing up great hands all night,shows you great strengh and you don't believe

Oh I believe full well he has a made hand, just not sure if it is a set, AA/KK/QQ/JJ or QJ or conceivably A10.

Getting 550-50 in the SB I am struggling to think of a hand I wouldn't play.

Although I know he had jq and tighty was struggling I believe his betting pattern is the same with a set , or even a big draw and therefore you cant really fold.

I think it's definitely a call.... I'd have put him on an overpair like you said, or a nut flush draw...
The only hand you're behind to on the flop is jack queen....and personally just my opinion I wouldn't have gone all in with the nuts on the flop, I'd have flat called, or made a smaller re-raise...not gone all in with it.
Too many people in the pot to go all in with top pair on that flop.
