Although if no ill-prepared, high profile types ran the thing, would it be as popular?

Just trying to kick up some debate coz I'm bored. No serious opinion on this, or any other issue that I have ever posted about for that matter. (Apart from short stacks and where they should be moved to)

It is very difficult for smaller less well known charities to get participants into events of this nature, however if you are a 'name' it seems there is no problem.

I have it on very good authority that TheTank is now officially a 'name', so get your plimsols ready lad  Cheesy

I run alot, probably 4 or 5 times a week on average. But too be honest, I don't think I could run a marathon. It looks torture. 10K would be ok, but 26 miles...pain....pain...pain

This is in no way meant to be offensive ironside and if you are offended I will remove it immediately. Was just wondering as you were a bit of an athlete before your injury have you or do you participate in any wheelchair sports?

And now she'll most like appear in crappy magazines again getting the cheques promoting dieting and fitness training and how we should all be aware of it.

Am I too cynical?

There are alot of celebs who just do it for publicity. But some others do it for charity. They have my respect, although I am not a big one for charities in general, apart from a number of animal charities.

Lance Armstrong is running the NY marathon

paula radcliffe was for the right reasons and for that we should be proud.

jade goody done it for her own reasons though im sure she raised a few quid for her charity but then again so did the other 30k or so runners who dont crave publicity
