So there I was, just about to tuck into a hangover breakfast. Bacon sarnies. Not complete without some tomato ketchup methinks.

Into the cupboard, a quick shake and then......what the heck?

THEY NOW SELL KETCHUP IN RED BOTTLES.

How absurd, I'd run out, and I had no idea I'd run out

Is this the worst marketing ploy in the world...?

you piss your customers off and they have no idea when they need to buy more unless of course all prospective customers are expected to shake the contents of their tin cupboard prior to visiting the supermarket. So they don't buy more. They just buy 30 packs of KitKats and 12 packs of coke instead.

Thus they miss out on sales, putting themselves (the marketing directors) at financial risk, missing budgets and potentially losing thier jobs

and all for the sake of a red bottle.

I give up.

Putting tomato ketchup on bacon sarnies is clearly the habit of someone who eats too many kit kats.

The first thing I thought when I saw this was "Ketchup on a bacon sandwich?".

I see that it's been well covered already though...

Dear Tighty,

Rule #17 of "kitchen cupboard inventory for beginners" clearly states that thou should keep a spare bottle of ketchup in there at all times!!

( or maybe that's what the cunning new packaging is trying to encourage you to do? Wink )

Works for me and I also apply same rule to salad cream and peanut butter!!
