I like the guy. But then again, I like all illusionists, entertainers and magicians. As you probably know, Blaine starts his latest stunt today. He is to be submerged in a water-filled container in New York. After a week, his air supply will be cut and he will attempt to break the world record for holding his breath. Crazy or Great? I am sure it is today. I have just been informed by my friend ( insane magician type chap ) that this stunt isn't to take place untill next month. I still say it is today

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k. “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi. Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

isn't the holding breath bit a bit of a con as he will be breathing pure oxygen for a week and will have a higher capacity because of it? someone told me that after a few shandies so it may be bobbins.

Yes it is today ish it starts.
He is definatly slightly crazy but thats what makes him so entertaining.
I dont think he'll be on pure oxygen for a week because I'm sure thats not good for you but there is definatly something in him being on increased oxygen.
This 'trick' is mental...

He's great, a real showman of the old school (with a post-modern twist). He uses the media, in much the same way the old showman of the fairgrounds were able to dupe the crowds. Just hope he does'nt go the way of Harry Houdini.

The problem that David Blaine has with his image in this country is that he takes himself so damn seriously. There is no humour at all in his act, as he cultivates an aura of Christ-like reverence.
He got his arse well and truly spanked the time he did the box thing by Tower Bridge from people taking the mickey - he went back to the US with his tail between his legs as he wasn't given due deference by the Londoners.
Derren Brown is fun.
