Opening Week

We are still recruiting the dealers and sorting so much crap out, everyone is flat out 100%.

We want to make sure we get things right when we open, so the first weekend is going to more like a "soft launch". There are so many things that could go wrong if we took on a big field, so the smaller the better to "iron out the inevitable teething problems"

1. TK has hit the nail on the head - for the dtd Model to continue past the medium term (and no other model like it exists in the UK)  it has to be has be sustainable. The model does not include having roulette and blackjack tables, dtd is about being "dedicated to poker".

I noticed a few comments on BP about dtd not renewing DC's sponsorship contract in 2008. I would like to say for the record that this has absolutley nothing to do with DC, it is 100% a consequence of the last 12-18 months of delays in the opening of the live club.

I had to leave the hearing at 12pm today, to attend a funeral at Redditch of one of my longest serving staff, Lisa Bayliss. She took her own life tragically last week at the age of 35 - I decided that no matter what was happening at the hearing, I would make it to the funeral, when events like this happen, it really puts a casino licence into perpective.

I would love to give you all a detailed update of the proceedings today, but it is not permitted, we were told under no uncertain terms that the contents of todays hearing were not to be made public. I'm not sure exactly why, as there were members of the press present, but I have to respect the magistrates courts directive, especially as extracts from my Blondepoker dusk till dawn Diary were used to cross examine today me by the Gala barrister.

Well, its finally arrived, "D" day, the dusk till dawn case begins at 10am tomorrow and the Magistrates Court has allowed 4 full days to reach a result.
