I will make this quick because the final table starts any minuite. Well done to DaveC on making the final in the Main Event.

Myself and Julian hired scooters to go around the island yesterday which was great fun. We went to different bays where the sea was fantastic and little beach side bars for some chilled beers. We came back and watched the Rookie in the final of the pro event, unfortunatley he finished 5th, Tony Cascarino won the event. I played a $50 sit n go with James Lowe who works for William Hill. He doesn't play much poker and he went on to win which was great for him. He is a good lad who has been getting a hard time over the last few days from people over things that are not his fault.

Phil Quayle (bobby1) won the $500 event last night so well done to him.

Got to go, the final is starting in the Main Event.

Ben took a beat in the comp and wasnt very happy when I spoke to him. I'm sure he will post more details in his thread but I'm not sure about Tom, but Ben will probably know more.

Wow, 40 mins into the Main Event and I'm gone. 2nd hand I pick up a straight draw and hit the straight on the turn. I bet at my draw and got paid off fairly nicely as it is disguised a bit. 3rd hand the guy to my right raises i look down at my cards and see A-A. Lovely I thought so I re-raise only for him to call. The flop comes down J high with no draws on it. What a lovely flop for aces, unfortunatley is was also a lovely flop for Queens so the money goes in and turn card is a Queen. I'm down to about 1k. I win my next 2 hands and get back up to 1,800 but come unstuck when I raise with 9d-Td and get 1 caller. flop comes 7-8-2 2 clubs. I put a 2xpot size bet in but Mateygirl chases her flush draw. The turn is not a club but the ten of spades and the money goes in as I was commited after the bet on the flop, she has Tc-Kc and im gone.

I'm going to the bar to drown my sorrows, I'm sure the rookie will help me.

It seems Julian has been watching Brian a little too much. He was probably 1st out of the Main Event when his 7c-4h was no match for As-Ac. In all fairness to Julian he was unlucky. Matey boy makes it 175 to go with the blinds at 25/50. It's Julian's BB and he calls, the flop is 3s-4s-7s. Julian check raises him only for the raiser to re-raise, so Julian pushes and Mateyboy calls. Unfortunatley a spade falls on the turn to give matey boy a flush. I must say Julian is top class, he didnt moan about his beat he didnt let it upset him, although he was obviously disappointed to be out after he has been playing so well all week. The guy is a real profesional. I also owe Julian a big thank you as there was a $300 limit comp last night and he bought a large piece of me that meant I could play .
