[15] Day 52 - 54

Day 52 - Another 60 to be marked off the totalizer. (Mental note - I totally need a totalizer. Next time I take a day off, I might get all arts and crafty.)

Tank sometimes it pays just to turn chat off.

I'm doing just that, turning it back on when I'm down to the last tournament of the sesh. (Can't stop me chatting completely)

So far, it seems to be working....

Day 52 Results : +$1,399.5 (+$7,954.3 total)
ROI : 13.6% (after 974 played)

I don't believe that this result was entirely due to turning chat off. However, I'm still buying Div a pint when I see him next.

A jump of over 1% in the ROI in one day, after playing this many, is a big deal for me. Looking back, I believe this is the single most successful day of the campaign so far.

Day 53 - Today's efforts pushed me past the 1,000 STT played mark. Good to get there but I'm 22 days late. Not too worried as.....

Dull statty bit

On Friday I'd managed only 17.7% of my target while 40% of my time had gone. I was behind a whopping 23.3%!

Today 25.8% of the tournaments required are behind me and 44.2% of the time has elapsed. I'm now only behind by 18.4%.

So in 4.2% of the clock I've put in 8.1% of the total tournaments needed.......and I feel fine  Cheesy

My play is much more regimented and professional-ish now. The structure of my work day is much better too. Play 30, take an hour and a half off, then play another 30. In the last 5 days I've put in 324 tournaments. I've finally started to play like I mean to get there within four months. I think this is largely down to the new, more disciplined, regime.

Before, I'd sleep when I was tired, play poker when I fancied it and had days off on a whim. Instead of 7 sleeps a week like a normal person, I'd have around 10 short ones. Most of the time I wasn't sure what day it was.

I'm still going to take days off (not that mental) but I'll plan when they'll be and adjust my sleep schedule accordingly. Days off will still be  necessary if I feel tilt creep into my game.

Day 53 Results : +$360 (+$8,314.3 total)
ROI : 13.4% (after 1,034 tournaments)

The first batch o' 30 wasn't going too well at all. It finished amazingly stongly though. When I used to play batches of 4 I never ever had a "perfect batch" (four 1st places) Pleased to tell y'all that 1st place money in the last four tournaments before "lunch break" (4am) were all taken down by tigmong.  (That's me  Cheesy)

New word for your dictionarys, professional-ish : Verb used to describe someone who is serious about their STTs but still munches duck pancakes by the computer and gets plum sauce all over the mouse.

Day 54 - Dealt for the last time at Cincinnatis this evening. Don't really need the gig anymore, and it'll get in the way of travel plans etc. (Not to mention my blonde bash drinking plans)

As I was working, only did a half day when I got back. Just the 30 tournaments.

Day 54 Results : -265.5 (+$8,048.8 total)
ROI : 12.6% (after 1064 played)

I like the timing of my day off tomorrow, just after a losing sesh. I'll be back early Sunday morning to tell you how many I played on Saturday, and hopefully, report another win.  Cheesy

[14] Day 49 - 51

Day 49 - Time to step on the gas. To that end, I had an early night on Friday and woke up on Saturday with the intention of starting to make up for lost time. At the weekends I'm not restricted by the time of day I can play, (the games are juicy from friday at 10pm till Monday at noon) so I can kick it whenever I choose.

[13] Day 42 - 48

I'd like to thank everyone that has wished me well over the course of this thread. There is no doubt in my mind that you guys have hepes me win more money.

On occasions when I was winning for the day, and might otherwise have ended my session, the urge not to dissapoint made me play more and in many cases win more. So a big thankyou to everyone. The Blondpoker forum has done so much for me.

I have news though. Dave Colclough has offered me a job managing Cincinnatis for him and I have accepted. It is a huge commitment and will not leave me any time to play online at the volume that would be necessary to complete this.

So thats the end of this quest for me, unless I get fired after a week. That's not going to happen though as I intend to pour my heart and soul into this new position. It is my sincere hope that what is bad news for fans of this thread will turn out to be good news for the Cincinnati card club. I'm giving this my best shot.

I'll hope to see you all at the BlondeBash, where I'll be wearing my tournament directors hat, (So won't be getting as drunk as I was at the last one) and at the Cincinnati Spring festival (details to follow very soon)

I'm always happy to hear suggestions and answer queries. Please get in touch with me about any Cincinnati related issue, either on the board, or better still by getting yer arse down the club to play, and speak to me in person  Cheesy

It's a great wee club, but with your help, we can make it fantastic.

[12] Day 38 - 41

Days 38 and 39 : I spent most of Day 38 mucking about with lower limits trying to find a system of multi-tabling that I was comfortable with. I have now settled with continously 6-tabling. For the moment, at least, 8-tabling is a little too much for me. Batching 6 leaves quite a lot of "empty space" on my desktop so I think I've found a happy medium.

Day 39 I put it into practise. I'm feeling good about how it's fairing against the Yankee hordes on Pokerstars so far. There was a point, early on Day 38, where I thought that if things continue to not run so well, I'd need to go back to Party Poker (We certainly don't want that now, do we kids and kiddies?)

Do you remeber the good ol' days in the first week of this thread. Days 2 and 3 when I reported four figured +ve results, it seems like quite some time ago. Thankfully not any more.....

Days 38 and 39 Results : +$1,250.5 (+$4,424.8 total)
ROI : 11.0% (after 669 played)

Well I think I can churn out 50 tournaments using my new method on "workdays" quite easily.

Have to deal tonight (real job), will be able to put in 50 on Friday, but then I'm going away to Aberdeen for the weekend. (Formal dinner/dance on Saturday night that I need to be kilted up for) So it won't be untill next week that you see the tournaments played statistic start to really get moving in an upwards direction.

It'll need to, at the moment 31.7% of my time has elapsed and only 16.7% of my task has been completed. 41 tournaments per day are now needed to get me there. That's pretty much 50 a day allowing for one day off a week. Most weeks I've had two days off, so I'll have to start putting in a little extra effort somewhere.

At least the ROI is back in the realms of respectability. It'll take some doing to get it back to 15%, although it's by no means impossible. (Two more days like today I think'd do it)

[11] Day 35 - 37

Days 35,36 and 37 : Played the 50 tournaments I wanted to on Saturday, so felt like treating myself to a few bevvies on the Sunday night

[10] Day 31 - 34

Days 31 and 32 - Well done everyone who guessed correctly. Yes indeed, the friggin monitor is still nowhere to be seen.

If I thought it would do any good, I'd send this thread to Dell and say....

(9) Day 28 - 30

Days 28, 29 and 30 - I'm a little miffed. Stayed up all day yesterday waiting on my pc to come (again) and it finally got delivered at 8pm. Well most of it anyway, the flingin' flangin' monitor has still not arrived.

(8) Day 22 - 27

Days 22 and 23 - Man this is gettin tough. Only managed 12 on Sunday (went to the pub) and 16 tonight. Thats one days work from 2, a poor effort. Packing it in tonight after just 16 as I'm pissed off about something so it's best not to play. It's nothing a nights sleep won't cure.

The new pc (with it's lovely big monitor) has been confirmed for arriving on Friday. I'll be able to breeze through 40 a day with that no problem. Or at least that's what I'm telling myself at the moment, we'll see how it works in practise.

Days 22 and 23 Results : +$349.5 (+$3614.3 total)
ROI : 13.7% (after 441 played)

I'm confident in my ability to play at least 6 tables when the new pc comes. I've already got some good notes on most of the regulars. That and 4 seems very easy for me now, even when they are all approaching the endgame at the same time.
If things go wrong, and it looks like I can't manage that many then I'll step back down. Reaching my target is important to me, but I'm not going to piss away the bankroll to get there.

All that being said, I still think I can make it.

I'll be busy on Wednesday but will be back early Friday morning to let you all know how Day 24 and 26 go.

(7) Day 20 - 21

Days 20 and 21 - Day 20 I took off, went to a home game instead. Very glad I did, it was a cracking night, many thanks to lazaroonie for hosting a well organized poker sesh. We had chips, cards, seats, finger food, booze and good company. All essential ingredients for a good poker night.

(6) Day 16 - 19

Days 16, 17, 18 and 19 - Father forgive me, it has been four days since my last confession. Actually I'm not Catholic, Day 16 made me wish I was though. I typed up a report on it at the time. After reading it through, it looked like a self indulgent whine-athon so I janked it. I am trying not to whinge about running bad, or at least keeping it to a minimum  (Won 4 races out of 30ish, nuff said.)
