The biggest and best UK poker tour is about to hit the small screen next week. With a £4million total prize pool, the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour consists of 10 legs (each costing £1,000 to enter) and a Grand Final (costing £3,000) to be held at the world famous London Grosvenor Victoria Casino in December.
The first seven legs of the tour have been completed, each of which has been recorded for transmission on Channel 4 – with the first episode of Leg 1 being screened on Tuesday 4th September just after midnight, followed by episode 2 of Leg 1 on Tuesday 11th September. Chanel Four will then continue to show two x 1 hour shows from each leg of the tour until the end of the year.
What is ground breaking about the series is that for the first time a UK Poker Tour rather than a ready-made-for-TV show or one-off tournament has been shown on mainstream television. This is real people, playing for real money in a real-life casino environment – each with a chance of becoming a new TV poker superstar.
