With the new G Casinos, the Empire Casino and Aspers in Newcastle, the old style casinos with their plain open plan layout and bland decor are quickly being replaced by suave, lavish venues with a more sophisticated interior. One of the first casinos, however, to start this trend in the UK was the Broadway Casino in Birmingham. Complete with comfy sofas, flickering fires, cool bars and even a pianist playing away in the corner, the overall experience at the Broadway is one that many have adhered to.
If you have yet to sample the delights of the Broadway, then feel free to take their latest festival into consideration. The week kicks off on the 17th September with the £100 No Limit Hold'Em, but climaxes in a £1,000 Main Event that should attract some of the biggest names from the UK circuit. If last season's Main Event is anything to go by when the Hit Squad's Praz Bansi took top honours, then it should be another cracker with skill being given the optimum chance to prevail.
