Null & TheV0id

As many of you will have been aware, Pokerstars last week underwent a lengthy investigation into the WCOOP triumph of 'TheV0id' after suspicions arose to the validity of his victory.

Fending off a tough final table including professional players Vanessa Rousso and Josh Arieh, it appeared as though 'TheV0id' was to be the elated recipient of $1,378,000 for his 1st place finish in this year's Main Event, but after accusations of multi-accounting arose, the funds were frozen to give Pokerstars the opportunity to review the said allegations.

A few days ago, Pokerstars made their decision to disqualify 'TheV0id' from the tournament, thereby enabling all players to jump up in place. As a result, the bubbleboy now sneaks into the cash whilst former second place finisher, 'ka$ino', is crowned champion and granted a $530,000 increase in winnings.

The message to players was as follows:

The investigation into the WCOOP Main Event has now been concluded.

We have determined, based on the totality of evidence, that the tournament winner “TheV0id” was in breach of the PokerStars Terms of Service.

In the interests of Game Integrity, “TheV0id” has been disqualified from first place.

All other WCOOP Main Event prizewinners in addition to the player who originally bubbled in 415th place will therefore advance one place in the prize pool. The necessary financial adjustments to reflect the revised tournament places will be made within the next 24 hours.

Please note that we are unable to release further details of this investigation, for reasons of confidentiality and privacy.

Of course, Pokerstars are revealing very little in terms of the findings of their investigations, but former London EPT victor Mark Teltscher remains the name on everyone's lips, although we here at blonde must emphasise that this is alleged and nothing more than rumour.

Other samples from the grapevine suggest that 'TheV0id' was playing with five accounts all from the same IP address, but, as previously stated, this information has yet to be confirmed and probably never will be.
