Claims to the inaugural title of Great British Poker Champion witnessed a fresh twist as Roland de Wolfe (left), Ram Vaswani, Barny Boatman and Joe Beevers announced their entries into the £2500+£50 GBPT Grand Final Main Event in association with Gala Casinos, taking place at the Gala Casino Harbourside, Bristol, from November 8 – 11.

Sitting on top of this year’s UK player rankings, with WPT and EPT successes firmly under his belt, Roland de Wolfe proudly flies the flag for ‘Best of British’ along with WSOP bracelet winner, Ram Vaswani, going in mob-handed with fellow pros Barny and Joe.

The news certainly adds extra bite following recent confirmation from US pros - Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandiari, Jennifer Tilly, Robert Williamson III and Jamie Gold - are headed into town to mount an all American assault.

Budding poker players across the country can still follow suit with some of these ‘Best of British’ off the UK pro scene to ensure the inaugural title stays this side of the pond! In addition to the prize money, the winner of the main event picks up a Vegas package into the Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic in December 2007, runner-up wins an Aussie Millions package, third gets to choose a season four EPT 2008 package, with fourth and fifth securing GBPT 2008 main event buy-ins.
