As we all know, they're poker mad over there in Ireland, and it would appear as though they're TV mad too, as the Liffey Arms in Newbridge is set to stage two satellites into the televised PartyPoker.com World Poker Open.
The satellites will take place in the cardroom above the bar on Monday 31st March and Monday 7th April. Entry will be €250 plus a €25 registration fee and as soon as €5,350 is collected from the prizepool, a seat will be allocated with any surplus money being distributed amongst the other finalists.
Braced to return to Channel 5 on terrestrial TV, this will be the 4th outing for the PartyPoker.com World Poker Open which has previously been won by the likes of Pippa Flanders and Mr TV himself, Ian Frazer (left). Filming will commence on the 25th April and will draw to a conclusion on the 2nd May, at which point, one of 72 players will receive a big comedy cheque for $250,000.
The total prize pool for this highly acclaimed event will be $576,00, so for an investment of just €250, this could be your chance to truly turn rags into riches and become the 2008 PartyPoker.com World Poker Open. Not only will you get to cross swords with some of poker's greats, but you'll also be given one night's free accommodation at the luxurious Waltham Abbey Hotel, not to mention an extra €250 for travel arrangements.
If you fancy a shot at this event, then be sure to give the satellites a crack at the given dates. For more information, please contact Mads on 0879284722.
