The Irish Open main event, which has a capacity of 1,000 players, begins this Thursday, 20th March at 2pm.Ireland’s biggest poker site will be sending 73 of its players to Citywest Hotel in Dublin for the Irish Open as they compete for a minimum first prize of €800,000. If one of these players wins the 2008 Irish Open they will have their buy-ins covered for the next half decade. The longest lasting Paddy First qualifier will win free entry to the 2009 Irish Open even if they do not win the tournament outright. The Paddy First players will be playing in distinctive green paddypowerpoker.com jerseys and will be easy to spot even amongst the huge field.
Six further players will also be playing in the Irish Open courtesy of Paddy Power Poker having earned free tickets through the site’s VIP Go Free promotion.
