Steve Davis, six times snooker world champion and Team Ladbrokes captain, has made it through to day three of the WSOP main event along with 34 other members of team Ladbrokes after 20 hours of gruelling poker play. 2379 players started day 2B and now only 855 remain! Steve will start tomorrow with 143,500 chips, he is an above average chip stack and will start day three in pretty good shape

Davis said: “I’ve really been playing my A game and it seems to have paid off so far. Obviously there are still a few days remaining but I’m going to take each day as it comes.”

Edward Ihre MD of Ladbrokes Poker added:  “This is the third consecutive year that Steve has been the team captain of Ladbrokes Poker. It’s great to see him doing so well and we’re hoping that he will better his cash of $20k in 2006.”

He continued, “His experience of playing snooker at the highest level means that he can maintain the optimum concentration levels for long periods of time and he’s really put this to good use throughout this tournament. This coupled with his determination and dedication is an inspiration to the entire team and I for one, would be very surprised if he does not cash this year!”

Twenty five percent of Team Ladbrokes have made it through to day three, including Ladbrokes Poker sponsored player and World Heads Up champion Jeff ‘Jaffacake’ Kimber who will start day three with 174,200 chips another familiar name and member of Team Ladbrokes Paul ‘Actionjack’ Jackson will start day three with 126,100 chips.
