The success of the Oxford cup, with its unusual mix of student players and poker personalities, has meant that Joe Barnard and Eric Engler couldn't help but run it again this year, in the genteel surroundings of the Randolph Hotel.

Oxford Cup V is now set for Sunday 30th April, with the main event being a £20 rebuy NLH tournament (rebuys for 90 mins and ONE add-on option).  There's room for up to 300 players, and last time around the prize pool totalled £13,800, so we hope their chip runners are wearing comfy shoes...

What else?  Well, there are 2000 starting stacks with blinds starting at 25, 25... 30 min clock...

The tournament starts at 11am with registration for those not buying directly through UPL from 9am at the Randolph Hotel itself.

Universitypokerleague.com have been running satellites, and also allowing a pre- registration, which will avoid the queues on the day (and queues there will be - imagine Phil Hellmuth standing behind Jac Arama standing behind Roy Houghton and you get some idea.  I kid you not...)  Just check out their forum for all the Q and A you might expect from the poker-hungry student populace.

Again there will be poker action all weekend in conjunction with the Oxford University Poker Society.

Already confirmed are:

Al Alvarez
Roy Houghton (maybe)
Padraig Parkinson
Claude Cohen
Jesse May (maybe)
Anthony Holden
Ashley Hames
Bruce Atkinson
Malcolm Harwood

And there are always plenty more where those came from. Best of luck to all blondeites daring to take on this action-packed mix.
