Earier this week, Danish player 'hahila' won the main event of the Ladbrokes Poker Festival LEOCOP IV. With $500,000 money added, hahila defeated some of the biggest names in poker including former WSOP bracelet winners, WSOP final tablists and a WSOPE final tablist.

The main event was a $1,000+100 no limit Hold'em freezeout. With a massive 4,370 players booting up Ladbrokes Poker that night, not to mention a mouth-watering $250,000 added to the prize pool, a gargantuan first prize of $229,500 was created for the lucky winner. Edward Ihre, MD of Ladbrokes Poker said: "We attracted a good field and the money added generated a record breaking prize pool of gigantic proportions for the 600 plus runners, $918,000, which easily made it the best value online tournament for an age."

Ed Ihre continued: "Ladbrokes Poker is really proving to be a lucky talisman for the Danes. At the same time 'hahila' was dominating the final table, eventually winning $230,000 after over 14 hours of play, Peter Eastgate, who flew out to Las Vegas as part of Team Ladbrokes in July of this year, was bossing the WSOP final table. Both events have been great for Ladbrokes Poker this year."

As predicted, the LEOCOP Leaderboard was dominated by those that had played and cashed in a number of the festival events. In fact, the table showed that the top 23 on the Leaderboard played in at least three of the 16 events.  Along with the winners of each festival event, the top 80 will now be invited to play in the Masters Event on the 22nd for the last remaining seat in the semi-final of Poker Million, which guarantees a minimum $20,000 payout and a once in a lifetime opportunity to play on TV for a million dollar first prize.

hahila's win takes him to the number two spot on the LEOCOP Leaderboard, earning him an extra $3,000. James666, a former festival event winner who clinched pole position by playing and cashing in seven events, takes home an additional $4,000, thus making his total festival winnings a cool $44,682.

'hahila' performed brilliantly throughout a tournament which lasted over 14 hours, maintaining his chip lead for most of the final table. A regular player at Ladbrokes, he never risked his tournament life without a huge advantage. His heads-up play from the night before where he secured fifth place was great preparation for the final table as 'Benno26' really gave him a run for his money. At one point, Benno26 snatched the chip lead in an exciting pot, flopping two pair on a K-4-2 flop and being paid off down the streets by hahila's K-J.

It was pocket queens a few hands later that proved hahila's saviour as Benno26 pushed with a flush draw that never materialised. The final hand of the morning occurred at 9.38am. Kh-Qd was enough to seal the deal for hahila who raised on the button and was called by Benno26. All the money went flying in on a Kc-4c-Tc flop, hahila making the final call with top pair against Benno26's inferior Ac-2d for the nut flush draw. Again, the flush failed to emerge, and hahila was champion.
