The European Championship of Online Poker III came to an exciting close earlier this week with young Irishman Eoghan ‘Intruder123’ O’Dea triumphing over a field of 1,283 to earn a $315,000 payday and the title of ECOOP III Main Event champion. The $1,060 buy-in tournament ran for a little over 15 hours, with the top 150 players earning a share of the $1,500,000 in the prizepool. O’Dea also wins a jewel-encrusted 18 carat gold bracelet, which was designed exclusively for the main event winner.
O’Dea will have the opportunity to overshadow his victory, the biggest in his career to date, when he moves under the studio lights later in the week to contest the semi-finals of the live Poker Million tournament in London, England. There he will join paddypowerpoker.com’s Ciaran ‘Big C’ O’Leary and 14 other of the world’s top players vying for a $1,000,000 first prize.

However, perhaps his focus will now be centred on improving his live performances, his best result to date being a 26th place finish in a WSOP Omaha event for $16,001.
