It's not often the poker tour bus hits Merseyside, but this year our Northern friends will be treated to a sea of festivity as the Liverpool Winter Festival nestles in the Circus Casino in Liverpool. Hosted by 10KingsPoker.com, the Liverpool Winter Festival is scheduled to take place between Wednesday 4th to Sunday 8th February, 2009, and is destined to be a week of poker fun and frolics. Promised to be teeming with poker fanatics, associated celebrities and other VIPs, the event is sure to attract plenty of interest with over 400 attendees plus spectators expected to be present as the inaugural event kicks off. As well as a handful of side events, those players can look forward to a £500 main event which will pit some of the country's hottest talents in a three day no limit Hold'em freezeout.
As well as being Liverpool's biggest ever poker festival, the event also boasts a unique team event competition which will be integrated into the main event. With an additional £3,000 prize to the winning team, Norwegian poker pro Henning Granstad and Liverpool football legend Jan Molby will be the team captions of 'Team 10Kings' and are said to be looking forward to accepting challenges from British, Scandinavian and Irish contingents.
