Meanwhile the festival has a full slate of side events that began last Thursday with the £2,500 buy-in sixteen player GUKPT Heads Up Championship won last year by Kevin O'Leary and containing a high powered field including the likes of John Kabbaj, Neil Channing, Jeff Duval, Surindar Sunar and James Dempsey.
In the first round the draw threw up a heavyweight contest with Duvall versus Kabbaj, with Duvall triumphing. Meanwhile Channing fell at the hands of youthful looking Tom Bentham while Richard Kellett beat Surindar Sunar and Richard Gryko beat Mick McCool.
The second round matches threw up the prospect of Kellett versus Dempsey, won by Dempsey and Ketul Nathwani against Bentham, won by Bentham.

Dempsey and Nankoosing were defeated and took away £5,000 each for their troubles and this Wednesday at 3pm Gryko and Bentham battle for the title and the £20,000 first prize.
