Pieter de Korver of the Netherlands claimed the PokerStars EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo and wins €2,300,000. His win, beating Matthew Woodward of the US heads-up, is the first by a European-born player since fellow countryman Rob Hollink won the inaugural EPT Grand Final in Season 1.

The 5-day, €10,000 main event drew 935 players (compared to 842 last year).

Dane Dag Matin Mikklesen was in a commanding position in this final but imploded in fourth whilst De Korver completed an amazing comeback from a stack of only two big blinds to triumph.
