Sky Poker Tour Returns with £100,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool
Six-leg second season follows huge success of sell-out first tour
LONDON, UK—8th October 2009—Sky Poker’s sell-out live tour is returning for a second season. Like last season, the Sky Poker Tour will run over six legs throughout the UK. Locations for the new Sky Poker Tour include Manchester, Newcastle, Luton, Glasgow and Swansea, with the Grand Final again taking place at the Dusk Till Dawn card room in Nottingham.
“We are really excited to announce the launch of the new Sky Poker Tour,” said Des Duffy, head of poker at Sky Poker. “Sky Poker and our community of players have developed extremely rapidly in a short space of time, and the success of the first Sky Poker Tour is testament to this.”
The six legs of the Sky Poker Tour will be held at some of the best card rooms in the country, including two of Grosvenor Casinos’ G Casinos. The G Casinos, alongside those from Aspers, Alea and Dusk Till Dawn will give Sky Poker players the best live poker experience available. The buy-in for the qualifying legs of the new Sky Poker Tour will be £100 with 150 seats in each leg and entry only available through satellites at www.skypoker.com. The tournaments on the new tour will be one day events held on a Saturday. The Grand Final in Nottingham, however, will be a two-day event with 250 seats and a buy in of £250. The total guaranteed prize pool for the whole second season of the Sky Poker Tour is £100,000.
“Two things that really impressed us last year were the friendly community atmosphere at all the legs and the high standard of play,” said Duffy. “This year we are looking forward to introducing more Sky Poker players to high quality, friendly poker tournaments in some of the UK’s very best venues.”
The first leg of the 2009/2010 Sky Poker Tour will take place on 7th November 2009 at G Casino in Manchester. Players can qualify for the event from as little as £2.60 through satellites that open today at www.skypoker.com.
