A disappointing 67 runners played Day1a of Leg 4 of the 2010 GUKPT series in Manchester. Tour manager Jonathan Raab had this to say on blonde Poker:

" 67 in the end today, which is low and the reasons given already in this thread are undoubtedly all factors, but the drop off in numbers actually started in the last half of 2009, by which time the effects of the recession had made their impact. This event last year had 298 players, but it was the first event in the northwest since Blackpool '08 and this time round there has already been a Bolton leg in January and the UKIPT here in February. However, since the drop off in numbers started for the main events, the side events have continued to do well and tonight's £100er is packed, having attracted over 130 players. There are currently about 60 registered for tomorrow and we expect to get 120+, which should bring the final number closer to 200. Some of these would probably work better now with just one starting day and would probably sell out with a max capacity of circa 200. I still think there is a market for £1,000 events, but perhaps some of the venues would be better suited to smaller buy ins. These are all things we will consider before deciding what to do with the tour in 2011."
