Join the cast of the Almeida Theatre's current production of House of Games for an unforgettable evening at Fox Poker Club, London’s first poker club situated on Shaftesbury Avenue in the heart of London’s West End. It is a perfect opportunity for you to entertain clients or enjoy an evening with friends whilst raising funds for the Almeida Theatre and its programme of work on the main stage and in the local community.
7.00pm Champagne and canapés. Guests shown to their tables and optional brief tutorial. All poker-playing abilities are welcome.
8.00pm Knock-out poker tournament to start.
11.00pm Close of tournament and winners announced with prizes.
The Almeida is offering a poker table for 9 people at £1,350 per table, equivalent to £150 per head. Guests will also be joined by a member of the House of Games cast and creative team, or another poker-loving actor! Non poker-playing tickets are available at £65 per person for those wishing to observe the action.
The table price includes a glass of champagne on arrival for each guest, canapés and drinks throughout the night and poker chips to play with (the cash value of which is donated to the Almeida Theatre). If guests are prematurely knocked out there is also the opportunity to buy more chips to raise further funds for the Almeida.
The evening is open to all poker-playing levels – for those new to the game, there will be an opportunity to have a brief tutorial or simply a refresher before playing commences for those a little rusty.
Please note that this is an exclusive event, with only 10 tables available.
The newly opened Fox Poker Club is named after Charlie Fox, a well-known figure of the British political and card playing establishment. His antics were legendary and bring great history and character to the club. It poses the perfect venue for our Fundraising Poker Night.
