February 24, 2012 – London: The Amateur Poker Association & Tour (APAT) is delighted to announce details for the sixth season of its acclaimed national amateur tour for non-professional players.
The opening festival will feature the two day William Hill English Amateur Poker Championship, with a capacity for 200 players, which will take place at the G Casino in Coventry on April 7 & 8.
The full Season Six schedule is as follows:-
April 7 & 8: William Hill English Amateur Poker Championship – G Casino, Coventry
May 26 & 27: Welsh Amateur Poker Championship – Les Croupiers Casino, Cardiff
July 7 & 8: Irish Amateur Poker Championship – Macau Sporting Club, Cork
Aug 24 to 27: European Championship Of Amateur Poker – Dusk Till Dawn, Nottingham
4 day festival featuring the two day, 8 country, European Amateur Team Championship, ECOAP Side Events in Stud, Six Max and Omaha and the two day European Amateur Poker Championship main event.
October 13 & 14: Scottish Amateur Poker Championship – Alea Casino, Glasgow
November 30: United Kingdom Home International Poker Championship – Venue TBA
Comprising 'A' & 'B' International Selections from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
December 1 & 2: United Kingdom Amateur Poker Championship – Venue TBA
January 26 & 27, 2013: United Kingdom Team Poker Championship – G Casino, Luton
March 28 to April 1, 2013: World Championship Of Amateur Poker – Dusk Till Dawn, Nottingham
The fifth annual WCOAP will feature the sixteen country two day World Amateur Team Championship, WCOAP Side Events in Stud, Omaha, Six Max, Heads Up, HORSE and the three day World Amateur Poker Championship main event. In addition the WCOAP will play host to the annual APAT Awards.
A detailed press release with complete partner and event details will precede each festival in Season Six. Equivalent Online Championship events will take place at 8pm on the Saturday preceeding each live event listed above.
Added value in the form of Championship Medals and seats at professional level events will be awarded to APAT National Amateur Champions and National Online Champions throughout Season Six.
APAT will operate National Amateur Rankings and National Online Rankings in Season Six, with a maximum of eighteen ranking points available to the winners of Main Events and a maximum of nine ranking points available to the winners of WCOAP, ECOAP and Online side events. A seat at a professional level event will be awarded to the winners of both Ranking titles.
