This week saw David Williams, Bob Chalmers, and Sammy Farha all walk home with 6 figure sums as they snatched up the latest three bracelets.

First off, Event #10 saw 2004 Main Event 2nd place finisher, David Williams, take top spot in the $1,500 Seven Card Stud Limit Freezout for a sum of $163,189.

In doing so, Williams, currently residing in Las Vegas, Nevada, ploughed through 471 other Stud fanatics, finally seeing off a tough final table that included the likes of the legendary Johnny Chan and the ever-dangerous Miami John Cernuto.

Although this scoop became the smallest first prize of the Series, the $652,470 prize pool was surely not to be sniffed at, even by millionaire players of the ilk of Williams. Money aside, the bracelet was almost certainly top of Williams' 'wish list', after coming so close to grabbing gold in 2004.

Then, the following day, the lesser known Bob Chalmers reigned supreme in the third Limit Hold 'Em event of the Series when he became yet another bracelet winner, taking Event 11's $1,500 Limit Freezout.

With London's Warren Wooldridge taking a highly impressive 3rd for $76,549, and everybody's favourite Geordie, Carlo 'The Dweller' Citrone, cashing in at 41st for $2,775, it was good to see the Brits making their presence felt, especially in an event such as Limit.

Finally, in Event 12 - the $5,000 Omaha Hi-Lo Split - the infamous Sammy Farha accepted a cheque for $389,560 when he saw off quite possibly the most challenging table of WSOP 2006. Phil Ivey and Kirill Gerasimov couldn't quite do enough to stop the 2003 Main Event runner-up from becoming top-dog, eventually being forced to settle for 2nd and 3rd respectively.

It's all happening this year, and this Beagle predicts even more exciting times ahead, especially with Wednesday's highly anticipated H.O.R.S.E. Event on the horizon.

blonde will be there, notepad and camera in hand, make sure you are too.
