This May sees the launch of the World Poker Tour's 5th season. Highlighted as the show that put poker on the map, the WPT will continue to dominate our screens with its mixed serving of fast paced action and real life drama.
With its enormous prize funds in tact, the show is sure to carry on attracting the biggest names in poker. Previous stars include Danish sensation Gus Hansen, the magician Antonio Esfandiari, and 2-time winner Howard Lederer. Not to mention all the previous unknown amateurs who have been thrust into the spotlight.
Not contempt with maintaining the same line-up, the WPT has added two more stops to the roster. The Mandalay Bay Resort, Las Vegas and the Foxwoods' Resort, Connecticut have both been fixed into the schedule.
With their online association with Party Poker and Ultimate Bet grinding to a halt, the WPT has found an opening to add the Foxwoods' Poker Classic to their already impressive list. A competition that is sure to be one of the biggest in poker tournament history.
