The longest running tournament outside of the World Series is back, and this time it's bigger and better than ever!
Building on the success of the Irish Open 2006, paddypowerpoker.com has doubled the GUARANTEED prize pool to €2 million making it not only one of Europe’s richest tournaments but also its largest in terms of players – this year’s capacity will be 800 with players being split into groups of up to 400 for ‘two’ day ones.
The event will take place in Dublin over Easter Weekend 2007 and, to celebrate the launch, paddypowerpoker.com have been holding freerolls for people wishing to qualify for nothing. Players can also qualify online every week at paddypowerpoker.com from 27th August 2006 with two daily feeders to a weekly grand final.
With a buy-in of €3,000 (+200 reg fee) and a vastly populated field, this comp is sure to make even more than it did this year when amateur player, Vincent Melinn (left) took home the €350,000 first prize.
So, boot up the lappie and start playing these satellites. The Irish Poker Open 2007 is NOT to be missed!
