With a smashing 54 players registering for the opening $10 bounty Event of the highly anticipated blonde Poker League 3, expectation was high for a fun-filled and exciting comp - and as usual, the blondes delivered.
With players conversing both on the forum and in the chat box, the banter was in full flow, with the usual suspects at the forefront of every exchange.
I can't account for everyone else, but my tournament was a steady ride with the odd blip here and there. Unfortunately for me, my journey to the top was cut short when I ran A-J into A-Q, subsequently failing to suck out on my deservedly victorious opponent.
Although I could only manage a rather insignificant 12th place (no points for me - bah humbug!), I did encounter that wonderful delight of eliminating a certain Anthony Kendall from the competition. As tikay put it himself, "I found a software problem - what looks like A-A is actually J-9o." As a result of my Nines holding up against the ol' fella's 'Aces', I am now $25 richer and enjoying that oh so desired pleasure of conquering a legend (cough).
With my good self gone, it was left to the likes of Zimbrabim (I,Zimbra on the forum), foxxster, Colchester Kev, Claw75 and Neeko to battle it out for 1st prize and those vital bragging rights.
But, with each of the aforementioned holding a chunky stack at one point or another, it was Zimbrabim who came out smelling of roses, eventually defeating foxxster to reign supreme at the top of the leader board.
The opening bPL was a joyous occasion and I will, of course, be doing my utmost to make the next one. If you were unfortunate enough to miss this Event, then don't fear, as there are many more to come. And remember, with your best FIVE results counting, you're not out of the running. So, don't delay, check out the schedule and pencil in the upcoming blonde comps into your diary.
See you at the felt!
