Although the EPT will be heading to Dublin this week, the local circuit will also be on the move, this time heading down South to Southampton.

The event is the Southern Poker Masters and most of the usual faces will be there. If you fancy joining in with the fun, then be sure to check out the details below.

But first, educate yourselves with five fascinating, but ultimately useless facts about Southampton. You can always rely on the Beagle to bring you a little bit of culture. Who said blonde were boring?!

(i) Southampton was heavily bombed during the Second World War.

(ii) The local football team are nicknamed the Saints and play at St Mary's Stadium.

(iii) The town was sacked in 1338 by the French, including the pirate Grimaldi, who used the plunder to help found the principality of Monaco.

(iv) The Viking King Canute the Great is supposed to have defeated the Anglo-Saxon King Ethelred the Unready here in 1014.

(v) Matthew Le Tissier, Craig David and Benny Hill are all famous for having resided in Southampton.

Benny Hill! Bet you didn't know that!
