Although I would never consider partaking in either, there is much more to Amsterdam than the whacky backy and those infamous ladies of the night, and next week shall be hard proof of this as the Holland Casino hosts its annual Master Classics festival.
Regarded as one of the best Events on the European circuit, the Holland Casino are usually very strict when it comes to allowing the press to report on the Main Event, and this year is no different! However, using Jen's charm (which requires a refill) and my guns (nope, not real guns), we have been granted permission to take our laptops into the casino and keep you, the viewers, updated on the ins and outs of the €5,000 No Limit Hold 'Em Freezeout.
Of course, due to the inevitable lack of Wifi, all of our updates will rely on the sometimes rather precarious vodafone mobile connection. However, it doesn't let us down too often and Amsterdam is hardly the middle of nowhere, so I predict that everything will be tickety boo.
Although we won't be able to rattle off the posts quite as frequently as our usual updates, we will certainly do our utmost to provide you with all the infomation you require on the Event. Chip counts, big hands, photographs, famous faces, whatever your heart desires - and, as is traditional with our interactive updates, if you would like some information on a praticular player then simply give us a shout and we'll see what we can unearth on the fellow (or fellowette) in question. As everyone knows, this is the beauty of the blonde live updates.
Updates aside, you might still fancy a trip to the Dam yourself. There are plenty of side-events, and I reckon there's a pretty good chance that you can still buy into the Main Event. So, if you fancy a trip to the land of clogs and dodgy moustaches, then make sure you check out the schedule below.

From 3rd November through 11th November 2006, the Poker Pit will be open daily from 1pm for Cash Games and Satellites. An enthousiastic team of Holland Casino staff will be ready to offer you Cash games on 25 tables. Various sorts of buy-ins and betting structures will be available.
