For those of you weren't aware, blondepoker proudly showcased it's inaugural weekly comp last night, the Sunday Sizzler. To be staged every Sunday at 8.30pm on blondepokerleague.com, the Sunday Sizzler had been running daily satellites throughout the week, and, as a result, created a field of 16 players for the $50 Main Event.
One of those players who won their seat via satellite was dedicated blonde forum member, Dan, whose online alias is andreab. Subsequently, it only cost Dan a mere $5 to play the Sunday Freezeout, a buy-in which he ultimately translated into a rather impressive $384 when he rose triumphantly to take his post as top dog.
Hot on his heels, however, were three other names familiar to the blonde community. First and foremost was madasahatstand - she performed marvellously to finish in runner-up spot and only just missed out on first by a whisker. In third place was MrsLime, a firm contributor to the poker hand analysis board. And last but by no means least was JimmyEck, the final player to cash last night when he took $96 for his credible 4th place finish.
Overall, blondepoker are overjoyed with the success of this event. Considering that it's our first attempt at staging a weekly freezeout with daily satellites to boot, we are more than pleased with the results. Whilst each satellite produced enough spondoolies to cover the guaranteed seat, Sunday's final attracted a commendable 16 runners in all, which was no mean feat considering the clash with the APAT event in Newcastle.
As a result, we fully intend to continue with this competition, so be sure to look out for more satellites during the week (schedule will be the same as last week) and ensure that you do your utmost to book your seat in next Sunday's final.
Finally, a big congratulations to Dan (left) for his win. He now has more bragging rights than most, but, unfortunately for him, he'll never win enough to live down that heads up confrontation he lost with yours truly, a defeat that meant he was forced to refer to me as 'King Snoopy' on the forum. I guess that makes me the true winner...
