The EPT Season 3 Scandinavian Open kicks off tomorrow (Wednesday, January 17, 2007) with 400 players - after selling out in less than 18 hours – and the first ever Scandinavian Poker Awards are held tonight (Tuesday) in Copenhagen
Players from all over the world - including Team PokerStars’ Tom McEvoy, Isabelle 'No Mercy' Mercier, Katja Thater, Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier and Luca Pagano will be competing for a prize pool of 8,000,000 Danish Kroner (approximately €1,000,000) in the four-day tournament at Casino Copenhagen.
The festival starts with the first ever Scandinavian Poker Awards, sponsored by PokerStars.com. The Awards has been setup to celebrate the phenomenal achievements of Scandinavian poker players and is being staged in association with some of Scandinavia's finest poker publications.

Poker players from all over Europe voted online for their favourite players from a shortlist created by the Awards jury comprising editors from leading Scandinavian poker publications and online poker communities. The nominees are:
