Due to the immense popularity of the first leg of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour held in Bolton last month all future events will now be extended to four days. The inaugural event in Bolton was originally due to have 160 runners, however, due to the sheer number of people qualifying online at Blue Square Poker and direct buy-ins, this was increased to 200 runners.
At each GUKPT event every poker player’s requirement is catered for from top class food to personal masseuses.
All future GUKPT events will consist of two first days, a second day and a final day. The GUKPT is an exclusive series of 11 major poker tournaments, with each leg being filmed and then broadcast on Channel 4 from September to the end of 2007. Players can buy in directly for £1,000 to each event or try their luck in qualifying through a comprehensive series of live satellites at Grosvenor Casinos and online satellites at Tour Sponsor Blue Square’s internet poker site, www.bluesqpoker.com. Each event will be taking place as the main event of an existing Grosvenor Poker Festival.
Russell Tamplin GUKPT Operations Director commented:-
“We were delighted at the sheer demand for our first event and have had to re-think future tournaments so that we can cope with the expected increase in numbers. It’s good news for the players as the winner of each event can now expect to walk away with over £100,000.”
